Delveline lets you ask questions of The Gateway Pundit’s published archive and answers with citations back to the original articles. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how long we keep it.
The short version
- Your questions are sent to our AI providers in order to answer them. They are not used to train models.
- We keep questions for 30 days to see what the archive fails to answer — stored without any identifier: no account, no session, no cookie, no IP address.
- We never store your IP address in our own systems. Where we need to count requests, we store a one-way salted hash.
- Analytics record how the page is used, but the question box and answers are masked out of recordings.
- We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
- We email you a marketing update only if you opt in when signing in. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can stop them at any time.
What we collect
Your questions
To answer a question we send it to our AI providers (below). We also record it in a coverage log so we can see which questions the archive cannot answer and improve it. That log contains the question text, the time, whether it was answered or declined, and internal relevance scores — and nothing that identifies you. There is no user ID, session ID, cookie value, IP address or user-agent stored alongside it, so entries cannot be linked back to you or to each other. Entries are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Questions asked of a news archive can reveal political interests, which is sensitive information. That is why the log is designed to be unattributable rather than merely access-controlled, and why the retention period is short. If you would rather not have a question recorded at all, please do not ask it here.
Account information
If you sign in we store your email address, which we use to send sign-in links. We do not store a password — sign-in is by emailed link. We also keep a count of the questions you have asked, to apply the usage limit. The service is free; we do not process payments and hold no payment information.
Marketing emails
When you sign in you can opt in to occasional updates from The Gateway Pundit. The box is unticked by default, so we email you only if you choose it, and never as a condition of using the service. You can withdraw at any time — every update carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and stopping is as easy as starting. We keep a record of your choice, and of any later unsubscribe, so we can honour it. We do not share your address with advertisers or sell it. Sign-in links are not marketing: we send them whenever you request one, whatever this choice is.
Cookies
- Essential. A signed identifier so we can apply the free allowance before you sign in, and a session cookie once you do. These are required for the service to work and cannot be turned off.
- Analytics. Microsoft Clarity sets a persistent cookie to measure how pages are used.
- Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site traffic.
Network information
We limit how many questions can be asked from one internet connection per day, to prevent automated abuse. To do that we convert your IP address into a one-way hash with a secret key and store only that; the address itself is never written to our database or our logs, and the hash cannot practically be reversed to recover it. Hashes are scoped to a single day.

Our AI providers process questions to return an answer and do not use them to train their models. These providers are located in the United States.
Session recording and masking
Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with the page — where they click and scroll — which helps us see what is confusing. The question box, the answers and the source lists are masked, meaning their contents are excluded from recordings rather than merely hidden from view. If you would prefer no analytics at all, browser settings or extensions that block analytics scripts will stop Clarity loading; the service works normally without it.
How long we keep things
- Questions in the coverage log: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Account records (your email and usage count): while your account exists.
- Per-connection request counts: one day.
- Microsoft Clarity recordings: held by Microsoft under Clarity’s own retention policy.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold about your account, correct it, or delete it, by writing to [email protected]. Deleting your account removes your email, usage counts and marketing preferences. Coverage-log entries cannot be retrieved or deleted individually, because they carry nothing linking them to you — that is the trade we made deliberately in favour of privacy.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal information, including the right to object to processing or to complain to a data-protection regulator.
Children
Delveline is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy — including turning session recording of questions on or off — we update the date at the top. The session-recording status described above is shown live on this page, so it always reflects what is actually captured right now.
